Choosing Styles, Types and Models of Men's Mountain Bikes
Men's mountain bikes can come in a number of different styles and models. There are many different brands to choose from. Some of them are strictly for trekking along mountain trails, and these will have extra suspensions, heavy duty frames, and gears that are protected against rough use. Many have shifters that are easy to use, located right on the hand grips. There are other bikes that are made for a variety of different uses, and can handle both street terrain, as well as the trails.
With all the different brands and models for a men's mountain bike it can sometimes be difficult to choose the one that is right for you. There are frames to consider, ease of use, and what you will be using it for. This is probably the first thing to take into consideration when looking for the right bike. If you are just using a mountain bike to get some exercise, riding in parks, or along the street, you should pick one that is lightweight and easy to maneuver around. It should have tires that are multipurpose, meaning that they do well on the street, but also have some kind of traction to them for off the road use.
When picking a mountain bike, you should also think about how much you will be using it per day. If you are going on long treks, then you are going to need extra shock absorbers, as well as a fairly comfortable seat. You want to pick one that fits you right, and lets you sit in an almost upright position, putting less strain on your back. You also want one that has easy to reach shifters, so you don't have to take your eyes off the road to shift, causing an accident.
If you use a bike for mountainous terrain, with lots of hills and rocky surfaces, you need one that can take much abuse. You will need a bike with a heavy duty frame, extra suspension, and tires that are made for rough terrain. These tires have lots of nubs on them to grip whatever surface they are on, and are extra thick, even solid in some cases to withstand running over branches, thorns and many other obstacles.
If you are using your bike for this purpose, you also want heavy duty brakes, gears, and wheels that can withstand much abuse. There are wheels available that are not made with conventional spokes, but are of a more solid design, with thick supports that can handle jumps without bending or breaking on landing. Some of these bikes also have solid frames, not hollow tubular steel or aluminum. Many may also have extra bracing welded into the corners for added support and strength.
There are many different places you can find a good men's mountain bike. You can start at your local bike shops, or at mass marketing retailers. If you are new to riding on a regular basis, starting here is your best bet for finding a variety of different makes and models. You can sit on them to check how they fit your body, and see how comfortable they are. Some bike shops will even let you take one out for a test run to get the feel of it.
