Cannondale Bikes - How to Choose the Right One For You

That Cannondale Corporation - they sure are geniuses when it comes to bicycle design and innovation. Since their first bicycle - a touring model in 1983, they have continued to push boundaries and provide us with bikes for every purpose. High performance is key with their output and they never fail - Cannondale bikes do everything they promise and more to make them the leaders in the cycling industry.

It shouldn't have taken you long to decide that you just GOT to get your hands on one of their bikes. However, since coming to the conclusion that you must be the proud owner of a Cannondale, the limitless amount of choice they have to offer has had you going round in circles. Unless you are dead certain on the requirements you need, this article is going to provide you with some information that will point you in the right direction when choosing which is the right bike for you.

Everything comes with a price and that goes for bikes too. You could fall into the trap of seriously underestimating the amount you will spend and you must take into account all the extra equipment and accessories to improve performance and/or leisure. It would be wise then, to do some budgeting before you proceed. Setting yourself a limit and sticking with it is not being too sensible and there are bikes for every budget (OK - just don't be too tight!)

Knowing which type of bike to go for is easier when you know how you intend to use it. Cannondale have bikes specifically for road, mountain, recreation and urban - with many sub-categories in between. Need a cycle to assist you with cross-country riding? Road races? Perhaps a bike that will give you the highest down-hill speeds? Work out your requirements and you will be able to reduce the choice a great deal, without eliminating all options.

Once you have uncovered the terrain you will be riding on and the style of your pursuit, you can make another crucial decision - full suspension or hard-tail. Both models have their benefits, for example a full suspension will be the most comfortable and easiest to control - great for cross country. The hard-tail doesn't have rear suspension but this makes it lighter and faster for road races or shorter distances.

There are further components and combinations to get your head around. By simply remembering what you intend to use the bike for and which areas you need to excel in - speed, control, comfort etc, then you can focus on a small selection of bikes rather than the whole collection.

Watch out for the sales. With most demand being around the summer season, you will often find that waiting until the Autumn or even Winter can lead to some pleasant reductions in price. Not only for the bikes themselves - but all the additional components and attire.

You should be somewhat closer now to teaming up with your dream bike - but remember one last thing, choosing a good dealer is just as crucial as keeping within your budget. Make sure they have a good record and that they offer you a warranty and technical help should you need it.
