6 Excellent Tips on How the Professionals Ride Their Bikes

When cycling, you will indefinitely come across some hygiene issues. What can these issues be? These problems will cause you to sometimes stop during your rides. There are a few methods to ease off these mentioned problems.

Stuck nose

Inevitably, your nose will get stuck from pollen and dust over time. This could even lead to a runny nose. Therefore, you should always keep a tissue or handkerchief at all times. These two are really handy when you need it. The real problem is that you simply cannot stop and blow your nostrils away with tissue or handkerchief!

This will slow you down and cause the body muscles to cool down. Instead, you can close one side of your nostril and blow out the other as you are cycling on your bike. Be sure to keep a lookout for other cyclists that are behind you. If possible, cycle in another lane before doing so.

When it comes to bowel movements

While peeing is not so bad, (considering you can do it anywhere you like) having the need to pass motion can be troublesome. This is where tissues are again useful. However, you should not litter those used tissues. This is bad ethics for cyclists. You should carry an additional plastic bag that can be sealed. Dump these dirty tissues into these bags and dispose them of at your home later on.

Do you need 'sunblock'?

Some people are more prone to sunburns that result from prolonged exposure to the sun. Therefore, you should always apply sufficient 'sunblock' or sunscreen to exposed areas of your skin before going cycling. You should also apply them for your ear and back of your neck.

When shopping for a sunscreen, look out for the ones that are made for sports purposes. You will also want to bring the sunscreen along if it is a particularly long ride.

If you wear contact lenses

You should consider wearing cycling sunglasses. You simply cannot avoid the foreign small objects or insects from entering your eyes that could end up together with your contact lenses. You should also skip on the normal reading glasses. Get cycling sunglasses and you will never go wrong.

For riders who are sensitive to dust on their eyes, they should consider wearing cycling goggles. These goggles will seal the eyes perfectly, disallowing any materials to enter the eye area.

Bike shorts can be breeding grounds for bacteria

Unless your cycling shorts are anti-microbial, you should wash them as soon as you have the chance. In fact, you should maintain good hygiene and cleanliness whenever you stop by a rest center. You should take off your bike shorts and wash it then leaving it to dry before continuing on your cycling session.

If you want to take cycling to another level

Then you should shave your legs clean. Yes, remove all hair from your legs. This is because you can easily gain a few seconds for every mile you cycle. Almost all professionals do it.
